White Tiger

I didn’t know this about white Tigers:

There is no such species found in nature. There is, in fact, a dormant white gene found in nature. However, this gene is a double-recessive allele, meaning that for the white characteristic to become prominent, repeated and continuous inbreeding must occur. As this does not happen in nature, the only way to produce one of the majestic white tigers you may see at a Siegfried and Roy show is through forced continual inbreeding in captivity. Sadly, this causes a vast array of defects including cleft palette, still birth, mental retardation, scoliosis, and immune deficiency. All white tigers are cross-eyed, as the gene that causes the absence of the orange pigment also causes each optic nerve to be connected to the wrong side of the brain. This makes them perfect for magicians and circus animal tamers, because their genetic deficiencies make them more dependent upon their trainers.

Not really worth all that cruel inbreeding just for the sake of of a shitty ‘magic act‘.
