Witches burnt to death in Kenya | Video | Reuters.com
May 22 – Eleven mainly elderly people suspected of being witches have been burnt to death in western Kenya. The eight women and three men set upon by an angry mob and set alight. The attacks took place in an area of west Kenya where suspicion of witchcraft runs deep.

Ex-US President Jimmy Carter has said Israel has at least 150 atomic weapons in its arsenal.
The Israelis have never confirmed they have nuclear weapons, but this has been widely assumed since a scientist leaked details in the 1980s.
Mr Carter made his comments on Israel’s weapons at a press conference at the annual literary Hay Festival in Wales.
He also described Israeli treatment of Palestinians as “one of the greatest human rights crimes on earth”.

The US Senate has voted $165 billion to fund Bush’s wars of aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq through next spring.
As the US is broke and deep in debt, every one of the $165 billion dollars will have to be borrowed. American consumers are also broke and deep in debt. Their zero saving rate means every one of the $165 billion dollars will have to be borrowed from foreigners.
The world’s only superpower is so broke it can’t even finance its own wars.
